Team Commissioning & Packing Party

In church service at Mount Pisgah this morning, we celebrated the 183 children who decided to dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at Vacation Bible School this week by singing songs with all the children. What an awesome blessing! After that, our mission team was commissioned by the church. To be prayed over by the entire congregation was an experience that I had never felt before. The sense of energy and spiritual empowerment was amazing. Pastor Steve then gave a sermon on overcoming fear (http://mountpisgah.org/current-message/) where we learned how “Freedom from fear is God’s will for me”. After the service, the church gathered for a block party celebration with all kinds of food, fellowship, and fun. It was a beautiful day with our church family.

The rest of the afternoon was spent back at Julie and Charley’s house for our packing party. We somehow managed to squeeze 50 lbs of donated gifts, crafts, and sports activities for the children into each of our 7 spare suitcases (that’s 350 lbs! total). If you could have seen the huge piles of stuff before we started, you would be amazed at our ability to fit it all in. I don’t think any of us believed that we were going to be able to take it all with us. Now we just have to manage to get it to the airport on Thursday afternoon. Please pray for strong backs as we have a few hurt and sore people on the team.

God Bless!

  2. The team is on my prayer list. I know God will be with you. Praying the love of God will show in everything the team does and everyone you meet will know you were sent by God.
